Product Description

Wonder about anxiety? Approximately 19 million Americans suffer from anxiety disorders, many of whom do not know why they experience these symptoms. Whether you are a newly diagnosed patient, a patient already in treatment who may wish to understand more deeply the roots of anxiety, or a friend or relative of someone suffering from anxiety, this book offers help. The only volume available to provide both the doctor’s and the patient’s view, 100 Questions & Answers About Anxiety gives you authoritative, practical answers to your questions. This book deals directly with the nature of anxiety and its underlying causes, treatment options (including various forms of psychotherapy and medication management), advice on coping with anxiety, sources of support, and much more. Written by psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, Dr. Chap Attwell, with commentary from actual patients, this book is an invaluable resource for anyone struggling with the medical, psychological, or emotional turmoil of this debilitating condition.

A gift for friends, loved ones and patients

Review Date: November 12, 2005
Reviewer: M. R. Lewin, San Francisco, CA
This is the best and most practical book I've ever read about anxiety. By page 3 it gave me several new, useful, insights about myself, loved ones and patients I see every day. As a non-psychiatrist, but practicing physician, my understanding of anxiety disorders was improved instantly, and in plain English.
