I am suffering from post partum depression and anxiety along with excessive worry. I am constantly uptight and can’t relax no matter what I do. Percocet really makes me relax and feel like I have hope. I was given it for my c-section. I was wondering if there are any natural things I could take that could have a similar effect. Not anything bogus or fake, but something that actually helps with depression and anxiety. Something to make me relax. Any help is greatly appreciated I want to enjoy my little boy!

Instead of taking the percocet I would recommend seeing a medical professional who can help you with your issue and prescribe an appropriate medication. I’m all for natural medicine, but post partum depression can be serious and should be handled by an appropriate professional
I reccomend the following:
Meditation
Yoga
Tai Chi (this helped my dad ALOT)
these will also make you a more happy, intuitive peaceful person!
I hope this helps!
You need to talk to your doctor about getting a prescription for something that is specifically made for post partum depression. Although the narcotic you take makes you feel good right now, after a while, it is actually going to make you feel worse. It will stop, very quickly, giving you that mood pick me up and will just make you feel tired and even more depressed. If you feel you need some help with anxiety right now ask him to prescribe you a very low dose xanax to take at bedtime for a short amount of time. This can help you to relax at night while giving you the chance to learn to calm yourself down during the day. Do things that release the endorphins that are naturally in your body. Laughing, exercising, running, taking a walk, playing with your baby. These can all help you feel better. A pill isn’t going to cure you but if used correctly can help you get back to being yourself. But if you get anything at all out of this please let it be that you need to stop taking the Percocet, now. It is not intended to be an antidepressant or anti anxiety and you are going to find yourself feeling worse in time. Just go to your doctor and tell him exactly how you are feeling and you can get the help you need. And don’t procrastinate……The sooner you go, the sooner you are going to start feeling better and enjoying your precious baby.

I agree, while Percocet helps its not something you want to become used to or addicted to taking. Plus, its not an anti-anxiety medication. All of the anti-anxiety meds have wicked side affects, I’ve always avoided them. Instead I used this woman’s program, its helped me so much with my anxiety and also my OCD issues:http://tinyurl.com/midwestcenter. I still use her tips to this day when I feel an attack coming on. Worth looking into….
