I’ve been having trouble with acidy stomach and foods not digesting properly, generally misbehaving and doctors have put it down to anxiety, can anxiety be treated and what will any medication do to me?
Or do i have to just try and battle it?

Yes, the doctors are right. These kinds of stomach problems can be caused by anxiety.
My daughter had some of the same problems, hers was not caused by anxiety, however when diagnosing her, her pediatrician asked if she was a very anxious or nervous child.
Your doctor may prescribe both an anxiety medication, (nerve pills) as well as something for the stomach, like Prilosec or Prevacid. You can also get the stomach medicines over the counter, but ask your doctor which one is best, because you don’t want any bad reactions if he also prescribes an anti-anxiety drug.

Anxiety is the cause of many health issues. I would stay away from as many medications as you can as they ALL have side effects and you might just tend to rely too much on them. If you are having digestive problems, eat salad with oil and vinegar dressing with your big meals. This will stop acid indigestion. Chew your food thoroughly and don’t drink more than 3-4 ounces of plain water with the meals-you can dilute your stomach acid if you drink too much. Stay away from alcohol and spicy foods for a while until you get yourself under control. Get more physical exercise and/or start a new hobby. This can take your mind off the day to day problems and help with anxiety.
