These techniques do not work for most people. In order to alleviate the symptoms, you need to work on the feared attributes that you are concerned about reveling to others that you feel are deficient. A good cognitive therapist worth their salt should know how to help you dig into and expose those attributes that you fear others will judge. Trying to resolve SA by tackling the situations you fear, is almost always useless. This is what the latest SA research indicates.
@arjunchawdry how is your cognitive function when tipsy?
@pinoy456456 isnt SA an extreme version of shyness? if not explain social anxiety then
my train of thought and brain for sure are a 1000 times better..my speech obviouly changes with the more i drink but when i just have a couple everything is fine
by smoke u mean weed right? and does your brain/train of thought/vocabulary improve when your drunk too.Because if thats the case we are in the same boat
My technique is to set a goal opposite of my fear.
What do u fear?
That others will think negative things about u.
Or something like that…
im 13 and im very sure i have this and i dont think this will work in my school because of certain people
I have no damn money to seek help. I have insurance but it still requires me to pay like 30-40 bucks an hour.
at anxietyace . com it shows how to overcome anxiety
i **** when people say social anxiety is “shyness” because social anxiety is way worse than shyness
You have to see a psicologist if you want to know why. I’m doing that and now I feel like I know myself a lot more. Good luck from argentina.
These videos have Helped Me SO much! Thanks for postin them!
you know what i’ve found helps. like no word of a lie i’ve been telling myself repeatedly over and over everyday that i’m awesome. i say it out loud at work and in convos and everything it’s made a MASSIVE difference!
I was a confident person before. then i started to have more awkard situations that i don’t really liked. i hated awkard situations.
i became socially awkward afterwards. i tried other things to overcome this but it didnt work. perhaps this helps a lot. love the feeling of being awkward. thnx.
Ya I would have to agree, I don’t see this working. It’s painful to deal with social situations. It’s like trying to be calm while rabid dogs are attacking you.
you’r asking me to be a *********… ok I’ll try…
I got over my SAD by forcing myself to go to a summer camp. when I was 17. I think it worked because i put myself in a situation where i had no choice but to talk to people. After about 2 weeks into it things started to get less awkward and as soon as it all ended life got 10 times easier. I recommend this to anybody who has SAD. It’s terrifying at first but once you really establish yourself you’ll be fine.
The only way i can ever have a real conversation with someone i have just met is if im drunk or have been drinking. If i am completely sober my mind goes blank when i try to speak to someone and they think im weird. I **** this disorder!!!!!
i had anxiety untill my brother told me about a site called LiveComfortableNow . com …. and it help me get over. Hope This Helps…. LiveComfortableNow . com
ahhh, i dont know what to do!! i’ve had social anxiety since 1st grade, now im in 10th, and i just started homeschool, but my SAD is still bad as ever-is that even possible? i have alot of health problems and i take 16 pills a day, so i dont know if meds will help. SAD is terrible thing to have
this helps a lot I’ll try it out! thanks
try to picture people ***** it will make the situation more comical and help relax you!
sounds crazy but it does help control your fear if you practice holding onto your relaxed emotional state.
The next time you’re feeling this way, tell yourlself “I don’t give a fuck”, this will help a lot. Trust me. Someone insults or reject you, just don’t give a damn, and move on. People will pick you up from there.
its good to not feel your alone
