Stress relief exercise can work better than anything else to rid you of that sinking feeling. Before I started exercising regularly, I would wake in the middle of the night, almost every night, worrying and stressing out about things. I don’t do that any more though – read on to find out how I beat it for good…
Running - the best stress relief exercise I’ve found so far is running. It’s not for everyone, and to be honest I didn’t think it was for me either, until I started. Once I got past the initial few weeks, I couldn’t believe how much fun it is. I know now that this fun feeling I get from running comes from the endorphins released into my bloodstream. But that’s fine by me.
Sport - it doesn’t matter which sport to be honest, the only thing that matters is that you do it. Sport can be a great way to loosen up and get rid of your troubles and anxieties, and it works especially well if you are one of the many people who cannot stand running. The trick is to pick a sport that you enjoy, and then the physical activity part of it is almost a byproduct.
Resistance training - Otherwise known as weightlifting. Now I know that you don’t get the same endorphins benefit that you will from running, but personally I don’t think you can beat the feeling you get from a vigorous weightlifting session. It’s not like you have to kill yourself and benchpress your body weight or anything, just some simple resistance training will do. You’ll be amazed at the difference this makes not only to your stress, but your general wellness.
